Lisa taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades in CPS and in the Charter Schools. After teaching 6 years, she became an assistant principal. She then followed her husband to Philadelphia and New York where she taught and ran an Honors Program and tutored students. Lisa graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Elementary Education and also has a Masters from The University of Illinois in Chicago in Leadership and Administration. After her youngest child went to Kindergarten, she decided it was time to get back into the classroom and loves being part of The Day School. The joy and excitement for learning that the children possess is contagious and she loves to see little minds at work. When Lisa was five years old she filled out her “All About Me” book and wrote that she wanted to be a rock star when she grew up, but then crossed it out and changed it to teacher. Even though she never lived out her rock star dream, she currently sings in a local band and takes her kids to lots of concerts and festivals, including Lollapalooza all four days! She also does professional organizing for private clients, volunteers and serves on several boards at her children’s schools. She also enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, and spending time with her family.
